- A rare opportunity to own a Ferrari with Le Mans-winning DNA
- An extraordinary hybrid powertrain pushes performance beyond racing regulations
- One very special example is set to attract serious attention from collectors
For the first time, a Ferrari 499P Modificata is heading to public auction. The 2024 track-only hypercar will headline Gooding Christie’s inaugural Geneva auction on 8 November 2026, with an estimate exceeding $9.1 million (CHF 7.5 million).
The car, chassis number 20, is finished in Ferrari's iconic red livery and has barely turned a wheel, having completed only its initial factory shakedown. It is being offered by its original owner.
IMMENSE POWER The 499P Modificata is derived from Ferrari's hugely successful 499P endurance racer, which secured three consecutive overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 2023 and 2025. The first of those victories marked Ferrari's return to the top step of the Le Mans podium for the first time since 1965.
Unlike the competition car, the Modificata is free from racing regulations, allowing Ferrari's engineers to extract even more performance. Power comes from a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 paired with a front-mounted electric motor, producing approximately 697 hp. However, activating the 'Push to Pass' system temporarily boosts output to an astonishing 858 hp for up to seven seconds.
While the racing 499P can only deploy electric power to its front wheels above 118 mph (190 km/h), the Modificata can use its hybrid system at any speed, providing all-wheel-drive traction from a standstill.
EXCLUSIVE OWNERSHIP Purchasing the 499P Modificata offers more than ownership of an extraordinary machine. The winning bidder will also gain access to Ferrari's exclusive Sport Prototipi Clienti programme, which provides factory-supported track events, maintenance and technical assistance.
However, the car is expected to remain at Ferrari's Maranello facilities until December 2028, unless otherwise agreed with the manufacturer. With its remarkable racing heritage, near-unused condition and exceptional performance, this 499P Modificata could become one of the most significant modern Ferraris to cross the auction block this year. All eyes will be on Geneva when the hammer falls on 8 November.
