THE NEW TESLA ROADSTER CAN FLY
2026-10-17By Elliot Mercer

- Tesla has revealed its long-awaited electric supercar.
- Revolutionary technology promises extraordinary performance.
- Despite the excitement, there is still a major catch.
After nearly a decade of anticipation, Tesla has finally unveiled its next-generation Roadster, and it is unlike anything the company has produced before. Revealed on 15 October 2026 at a SpaceX facility in Texas, the redesigned electric supercar combines extreme performance with technology inspired by rocket engineering.
UNBELIEVABLE PERFORMANCE The new Roadster aims to redefine what an electric car can achieve.
During the unveiling, Tesla demonstrated acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 0.81 seconds, making it one of the most astonishing performance claims in automotive history. Tesla also claims the vehicle can exceed 230 mph, with a driving range of more than 300 miles on a single charge.

A FLYING CAR Perhaps the biggest surprise of the unveiling was the Roadster's remarkable new technology. Working alongside SpaceX engineers, Tesla has developed a system using compressed-air thrusters that can briefly lift the vehicle off the ground.
During the demonstration, the car performed aerial manoeuvres and even drove upside down using an advanced suction system. Tesla plans three versions of the Roadster: Performance, Thrust and Rocket. The most extreme Rocket version is designed to perform short airborne movements, although it is not approved for public road use.
The technology represents an ambitious experiment in automotive engineering, but whether these features will ever become practical for everyday driving remains uncertain.
PRICE AND ORDERS While Tesla has not formally disclosed exact pricing details, they are expected to begin at around $200,000. The Performance and Thrust variants are open to anyone to reserve with a $50,000 deposit. Meanwhile, the Rocket variant remains limited and invite only.
