- Former royal Bentley emerges for sale
- Just 7100 miles from new
- Used to wear Andrew's distinctive "DOY" plate
A Bentley Flying Spur formerly used by Prince Andrew has appeared for sale in northern England, offering a rare chance to buy a luxury saloon with an unusual slice of Royal Family history. With just 7,100 miles on the clock, it has barely been used – but those miles include some notable journeys. It is yours for £125,000 ($165,000).
ANDREW'S GREEN FLYING SPUR The Bentley was reportedly supplied in blue before Andrew had it refinished in Barnato Green, a colour with particularly strong Bentley connections. Named after pioneering aviator Diana Barnato Walker, daughter of former Bentley chairman Woolf Barnato, the shade has also appeared on royal Bentleys used by Queen Elizabeth II.

Andrew made the car more recognisably his by fitting his distinctive ‘DOY’ registration, referencing the Duke of York title he held at the time. The Flying Spur subsequently appeared on several important occasions. Andrew used it around the time of Prince Philip’s funeral at Windsor in 2021, while it was also seen at the christening of his granddaughter Sienna the following year. It wasn’t his first green Flying Spur, either. Andrew had previously owned an earlier-generation W12 model, also finished in Barnato Green and wearing a ‘DOY’ registration.
A FAST ROYAL LIMOUSINE Underneath the royal provenance is one of Bentley’s most impressive modern luxury saloons. Its 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 produces 626hp and 900nm, sent through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and four-wheel drive. Despite weighing around 2.4 tonnes, the Flying Spur can hit 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and continue to 207 mph (333 km/h).
Andrew’s car is suitably lavish inside, with diamond-quilted leather, walnut trim, a Breitling dashboard clock, Naim audio and ventilated and massaging seats front and rear. Outside, it sits on 22-inch polished alloy wheels and has a panoramic glass roof.
