PAGANI HUAYRA CODALUNGA SPEEDSTER: THE LONG-TAIL LOSES ITS ROOF
  • Just 10 examples of Pagani's open top supercar will be bult
  • Its V12 engine delivers serious performance
  • It has an epic manual transmission system

The Pagani Huayra may have been succeeded by the Utopia, but it isn’t finished yet. The Huayra Codalunga Speedster transforms Pagani’s elegant long-tail special into an open-top hypercar, with production limited to just 10 examples. Each starts at a staggering $11.4 million.

A CLEANER SUPERCAR Inspired by the long-tail racing cars of the 1950s and ’60s, the Codalunga Speedster avoids the huge wings and aggressive aerodynamic features seen on many modern hypercars. Its stretched rear bodywork, low windscreen and removable roof give it a remarkably clean silhouette, while extensive carbon-composite construction keeps dry weight to just 1,270 kg.

Its familiar yet unique styling gives it one of the most impressive designs seen on the road today.

V12 POWER ## Behind the cabin is Pagani’s 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12, developed with Mercedes-AMG. It produces 864 hp and 1,100 Nm, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed Xtrac transmission. Buyers can choose an automated manual or a traditional manual gearbox, while top speed is electronically limited to 217 mph (350 km/h) and the supercar will launch from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 2.9 seconds.

SUPERB ENGINEERING Inside, Pagani combines machined metal components with leather and specially developed embroidered fabrics, continuing the brand’s obsession with making mechanical details part of the design. Each of the 10 cars will be extensively personalised, making an already rare hypercar effectively unique to its owner.

The Codalunga Speedster is less interested in winning the horsepower race than delivering something increasingly unusual: a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive V12 hypercar with a manual gearbox and styling inspired by another era. With its tiny production run and multi-million-dollar territory, it represents Pagani at its most extravagant — but also perhaps its most elegant.
