The GT was developed as a more usable, long-distance-focused alternative to its traditional supercars, while retaining the brand's mid-engined layout and carbon fiber construction. It offered substantially more luggage capacity and a more comfort-oriented cabin than McLaren's other models, even offering unusual materials such as cashmere.
