The CC was the supercar that started Koenigsegg's automotive story. First driven publicly at Anderstop in 1996, it established several ideas that would remain with the brand for decades, including the removable roof, wraparound cockpit and distinctive dihedral doors. Its semi-carbon-fiber chassis and hand-built body were considerably less sophisticated than later Koenigseggs, but the supercar proved Koenigsegg as an idea could work.
