The F40 Competizione is essentially the customer continuation of the F40 LM racing project. The first two cars carried the LM name, but Ferrari considered "Le Mans" too restrictive for cars intended for other competitions, so subsequent examples became Competizione; mechanically the two variants are similar, although not identical.
