2006-2012
The 599 GTB Fiorano replaced the 575M Maranello as Ferrari's front-engined V12 flagship and took much of its engine technology from the Enzo. Designed by Pininifarina, it combined a traditional long-boonet grand-tourer layout with increasingly sophisticated electronics and aerodynamics, including Ferrari's F1-Trac traction-control system. It also became the last series production Ferrari V12 to be offered with a manual transmission.

The 599 GTO was the road-legal high-performance of the evolutionm developed using lessons learned from Ferrari's 599XX track programme. It was lighter, more aggressive and far more focusd than the regular 599, with revised aerodynamics, suspension, and electronic systems. All 599 units were sold before the supercar was publicly announced.

Ferrari unveiled the 599XX as the second model in its experimental XX Programme. It was never road legal and wasn't designed for conventional racing either; instead, selected owneers participated in Ferrari-organised track events where the effectively served as rolling laboraties for new aerodynamic, electronic, and chassis technologies.
