The DB12 replaced the DB11 and introduced what Aston Martin calls the "Super Tourer", blending traditional grand-touring luxury with substantially sharper supercar performance. It combines a heavily uprated V8 with an electronic rear differential, new chassis electronics and Aston Martin's first in-house infotainment. It's offered as either a coupé or as a convertible, "Volante".

The DB12 S is the sharper, more performance-focused evolution of the DB12 and serves as the flagship of the DB12 range. Along with extra power, it gains quicker gearshifts, revised suspension and electronic differential tuning, standard carbon-ceramic brakes and more aggressive aerodynamics. A "Volante" variant is also offered.
