THE BUGATTI CHIRON: THE SUPERCAR THAT CHANGED THE MEANING OF SPEED

- One of the most extraordinary cars ever created
- A combination of extreme performance, luxury and engineering
- But what makes this machine so special?
The Bugatti Chiron is one of the most extraordinary cars ever built. First unveiled in 2016, it quickly became famous for its incredible speed, stunning design and enormous price tag. But there's much more to this hypercar than meets the eye.
UNBELIEVABLE SPEED AND POWER Underneath the bonnet sits an enormous 8.0-litre W16 engine with four turbochargers, producing an astonishing 1,500 horsepower. This allows the Chiron to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 261 mph.

IMMENSE LUXURY Despite its incredible power, the Chiron isn't just built for speed. Its interior features premium leather, polished metal and carefully crafted details. On the outside, its distinctive horseshoe grille and sleek curves make it instantly recognisable.
With a launch price of around $2.6 million, the Chiron was never going to be an everyday car. Bugatti produced just 500 examples, making it extremely rare and desirable among wealthy collectors.
ENGINEERING Building a car this powerful comes with huge challenges. Bugatti engineers developed advanced cooling systems, specially designed tyres and clever aerodynamics to keep the Chiron stable at extreme speeds. Every detail was carefully considered to deliver both performance and safety.
END OF AN ERA In 2024, Bugatti completed production of the final Chiron, marking the end of an incredible era. Although production has stopped, its combination of breathtaking performance, luxury and exclusivity means the Chiron will remain one of the most iconic hypercars in automotive history.
